Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai () is a Bollywood musical directed by Avtar Bhogal. The film stars Amrita Singh, Jackie Shroff, Anita Raj, Aruna Irani and Ranjeet. "Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai" is the story of two families struggling to come to terms with the concept of marriage in different ways. This satirical take on relationships will have you laughing out loud one moment and crying uncontrollably the next. The soundtrack of the film was composed by Bappi Lahiri. The songs "Mere Yaar Kalu Bittu" and "Chalti Walon Ke" were a chartbusters. The other songs featured in the film include:All the songs from the film were sung by Kumar Sanu, but due to his death after release, Lata Mangeshkar was asked to reprise her role as a guest singer to sing all the songs. The movie was released both as a Hindi as well as an English version, although movie released as an English version only in North America. The film was made with a budget of 75 crores. The movie is not rated by the Censor Board. The reason that it wasn't rated is because of its satirical topic, as movies on marriage are normally rated as family movies.The movie was released on 14 August 2009 and it had a good opening. AR Rahman scored music for this film and sung one song called "Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai".Ranjeet's mother Aruna Irani ji died during the promotion of this movie, after she suffered a heart attack on the sets of a TV serial in which she was acting that day. This caused a delay in the release of the movie. The film's trailer was launched by Ranjeet, Govinda and a special appearance by a man at the same time. Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai faced stiff competition from 3 other movies, which were also released on 14 August 2009. They were: Delhi 6, Jannat and The Hangover. The film was released on DVD with 5.1 surround sound and widescreen format on 29 May 2010 in India by Venus Worldwide Entertainment Pvt Ltd.
